103 Annual Chilliwack Plowing Match

The 103 Annual Chilliwack Plowing Match was held April 5 with members of the WCFA giving a Draft Showing Demonstration for the public.  It was a beautiful sunny Spring day with over a 1000 people attending.  The demonstration was well received by the public!  

Our very own Adam Degenstein from Vernon,  BC. was also competing with his Clydesdale team in the Plowing Match.

It was another great opportunity for the WCFA to educate the general public and showcase our skills as Farriers.

Golden Membership

Golden Membership – WCFA membership is available for Retired or Senior Farriers.  Either having retired from shoeing or reaching a senior age of 65 and older,  residing in Western Canada.  Please let us know which you qualify for, as will be subject to executive approval.

All memberships run from January 1st to December 31st.  

This membership is offered at a nominal cost of $5.00 annually.

WCFA Fall Conference 2025

This year’s WCFA Fall Conference will be held on October 23rd,24th,& 25th in Abbotsford, B.C. at the Abbotsford Exhibition Park and all the festivities will be held under one roof over 3 days.  This is a change from how it’s been done in the past at Chilliwack Heritage Park where we have been since the beginning so we are throwing the book out the door and freshening up the event with a new look, new place and format.

This year’s Judge for Division 2 & 3 will be Bodie Trnka CJF. who is at the top of his game and we are lucky to get him this year.

Mark Hobby DIP, WCF(hons) will be judging Division 1 and giving a hands on clinic.

We also have Scott Fleming DVM, from Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital coming to provide lectures as well, his knowledge is vast so you don’t want to miss him this year.
